About

Every mickle mek a muckle

Small amounts, properly counted, add up

That is the proverb, and it is the whole idea. Most small businesses in Jamaica do not have a bookkeeper. They have an owner with a phone, a bank statement, and a filing date coming.

Mikkl grew out of running a working farm, where the books had to be kept between everything else. The software that came from it was built for the person doing the work, not for the person auditing it, and it was built around the rules as they are here: JMD, GCT, NIS, NHT, Education Tax, HEART, PAYE, and the S01 and IT01 calendar.

It is three modules you can take one at a time, and it is meant to be the last bookkeeping app a small business needs to learn.

What we hold ourselves to

Jamaican first

The rates, the forms and the deadlines are the local ones, and they are kept current. No workarounds for a foreign product.

Honest numbers

Double-entry underneath, so the reports reconcile to the bank. A figure on a card is one you can defend.

Room for the accountant

When you have one, they get a desk across their clients. The business stays yours either way.
